Why it's free

It's free. Always free. We mean it.

No per-seat fee. No chapter license. No tier. No upsell. No "free for now." OurChapter OS is built and run as a contribution to the EO community.

Running on the love of EO is a real thing. Every learning chair, every president, every executive director who has tried to herd a chapter's moving parts knows what it costs in time and energy. That's the cost we set out to lower. Charging for the software would have undone the point.

What "free" actually means

No fee, no license, no tier.

  • No per-seat pricing. Add every chair, every member, every SAP partner. The bill doesn't move.
  • No chapter license. Bring it to your chapter without negotiating a contract.
  • No "free for now." We're not building a free tier as an on-ramp. This is the model.
  • No upsell. Every feature on the page is included.

Why we built it this way

Built by a chair, for chairs.

OurChapter OS started as one Learning Chair's frustration. He built it for himself, then for other chairs in his chapter, then for other Learning Chairs, then for the Regional Learning Chair Expert who needed visibility across her chapters. Every step of that growth came from another EO member saying "can we have what you have?" and the answer being yes, of course.

That answer doesn't change just because the software got bigger. We owe the community that gave us the chance to build this.

What we ask for in return

Pass it on.

The only thing we ask is that you pay it forward.

  • Tell another chapter. If your chapter benefits, the next one we'd love to help is the one a board member from your chapter introduces.
  • Tell us what's missing. Honest feedback is more valuable than a license fee. The roadmap is built from what chairs say they're struggling with this week.
  • Mention us to your Regional Learning Chair Expert. If she has visibility into more chapters in her region, every chapter in her region wins.

An honest note about real costs

The hosting bill is real. It's covered.

Software has running costs. Database, hosting, email delivery, monitoring. Those are real bills, paid every month, by Aidan Taylor App Works as a contribution to EO. We're transparent about that so you know what we're trusting in when we say free.

If that arrangement ever changes, we'll tell every chapter using the platform long before anything changes. Not a surprise email. A real conversation.
